Das Boeing-Patent beschreibt eine Drohne, die einzelne Bestandteile abwerfen kann, um anschließend unterzutauchen. Wie aus der Beschreibung hervorgeht, transportiert ein Flugzeug die Drohne in die Luft, wo sie abgeworfen wird. Von dort aus kann das unbemannte Fluggerät das Meer ansteuern.

Boeing is forecasting demand for 1,740 new commercial aircraft in India over the next 20 years, with the majority of the requirements in the narrowbody market segment.

In its 20-year forecast, the airframer expects the Indian market to require 1,460 new single-aisle jets, 260 widebodies and 20 regional jets. This represents 4.6% of the forecast deliveries worldwide, amounting to some USD 240 billion in value.

Early this year, the US Patent and Trademark Office approved a patent application from Boeing's Nathan Hiller for a "rapid deployment air and water vehicle."

In other words, Boeing's has patented a remotely operated flying drone that can transform into a submarine.

Here's how it works.

According to Boeing, the patented craft could be carried into the deployment area by a host aircraft. The remotely piloted drone would then detach from the carrier aircraft and fly on its own. When required, the drone would then dive into the water.

In der Diskussion um alternative Antriebe dominiert in der Autobranche der Elektromotor. Allerdings hat das mit Batterie betriebene Fahrzeug einen großen Nachteil: die langen Aufladezeiten. Eine Alternative zum alternativen Antrieb kann Wasserstoff bieten. Als Treibstoff ist er deutlich praktikaber, weil der Tank genau wie bei Benzin oder Diesel binnen weniger Minuten aufgefüllt werden kann. Gleichzeitig ist der Antrieb umweltfreundlich, weil als Emission lediglich Wasserdampf entsteht. Wenn der Wasserstoff aus regenerativer Wind- oder Solarenergie erzeugt wird, ist er sogar komplett sauber.

Doppelte Blickfelddarstellungsgeräte im Cockpit, sogenannte Head-up Displays (HUDs), werden bald in allen Airbus-Baureihen ab Werk angeboten.

Reimagining What a Drone Can Do

As the popularity of personal drones grows, particularly among adventurers and sports enthusiasts, the robotics industry has started moving toward the creation of mass-market models. No company embraces this shift more than 3DR. Founded in 2009, 3DR designs and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles, bringing the cutting-edge multicopter, plane and autopilot hardware that was once limited to government entities directly to the consumer Marketplace.

They’re coming, and we won’t be able to stop them. But will they be friends or foes? What are we talking about? Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
